VBS.tv and VICE are looking for a Digital Marketing and Publicity Manager for our Online properties including VBS.tv, the Online Broadcast Network created by VICE (magazine, records, books) and Spike Jonze.
SUMMARY — PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Develop and manage VBS.tv’s online’s marketing to ensure visitor and traffic targets are achieved, and create long-term partnerships in the online space.
ESSENTIALS:
Using existing contacts and broad knowledge the online space, make VBS.tv inescapable in the online community.
Develop a network of trusted sites and influencers through whom to seed VBS content, and draw traffic back from.
Push the VBS.tv brand out to new audiences and solidify as well as bringing feedback back to the brand.
Build a content syndication routine which feeds the community with content for their blogs, podcasts, and to discuss on message boards.
Develop and maintain tight cross-promotional relationships with prominent and developing online channels ie YouTube, MySpace, Friendster, Flickr, Blogger, Wordpress, Bloglines, etc.
Manage tracking and reporting of all marketing campaigns across social networks, blog networks, viral media publishers and sites, etc.
Work with sales and production teams to identify new promotional opportunities and techniques for new original content.
Negotiate cross-promotional terms and execute agreements with partners.
Manage day-to-day communication with VBS staff to ensure that necessary creative, tracking URLs, reporting, and other materials necessary to execute and optimize advertising campaigns are distributed.
Produce and analyze daily, weekly and monthly, reports measuring traffic and the success of online marketing campaigns, in particular new viewers/audience.
Think big, not blog.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
· Strong knowledge of the VBS and VICE brands.
· Advanced and current knowledge of online marketing trends, analytics, and current events, particularly as they relate to blogs, social networks, and viral marketing.
· Experience building testing strategies and implementing testing plans; solid understanding of statistics in relation to confidence and significance levels
· Strong analytical skills and proficient writing skills
· Success in negotiation and escalation techniques
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Proven ability to improve ROI
· Experience third-party campaign management tools (i.e. Dart for Publishers, Google Analytics, etc.)
Education / Experience:
BA/BS in Marketing, Business, or related field
5+ years work experience in either marketing at an Internet company or at an online ad agency

Brandcurve is an established blog on branding and marketing. The blog was started by a marketing student with a unique perspective and opinions on branding and marketing. It has about 180 posts and more than 100 subscribers. Both traffic and the number of subscribers have gone up consistently since the blog’s founding.
**The Blogger**
The blogger should be an experienced blogger and someone who has a lot of experience with branding. We’re looking for someone who can talk about the latest happenings in brands, what companies are up to, and how companies can improve their brands. We want the blog to be a part news, part how to blog that shows people what brands are great and how they can make their brands great as well. You don’t have to be an award winning writer, but we are seeking someone who can write well. The ability to great great headlines is important.
