Prestigious TV Entertainment Powerhouse Taps Texas Advertiser for Exposure

HOUSTON, TX (MMD Newswire) April 26, 2012 — DIRECTV, one of the world’s premier TV entertainment companies, has chosen The Greensheet, the original classified publication of Texas, to advertise its services throughout the State of Texas.

Kathy Douglass, CEO of The Greensheet said, “Our paper has brought buyers to our customers for over forty years. We are so happy to help bring customers to a reputable brand like DIRECTV.”

Results-Driven Decision

DIRECTV originally advertised with The Greensheet in November of last year with 100,000 inserts in Houston and 100,000 in Dallas. After a successful initial run, the company bought a full slate of insert advertising, placing 770,000 inserts throughout the publication’s 20 editions. Based on its initial success, the well-known TV entertainment brand decided to renew that contract again this week.

The inserts serve as an effective complement to the company’s current direct mail sales and marketing strategy. By reinforcing its message in The Greensheet’s pages, DIRECTV hopes to improve exposure and increase the likelihood of sales.

So far, the move has been effective.

Elite Sales Accomplishment

DIRECTV’s Texas-wide full-press run is just one success in a string of recent sales achievements for The Greensheet. The company’s sales numbers are on pace to top last year’s by a wide margin (over 8%). The Greensheet has a reputation for outperforming already impressive sales output on a regular basis.

“Companies like DIRECTV advertise with us because we bring them results,” said Clint Finch, The Greensheet’s National Sales Manager. “Our media consultants bring a broad, knowledgeable skill set to the table. We want our customers to benefit from not just our elite distribution, but also our proven sales strategy.”

About The Greensheet

The Greensheet, a free classified publication, is the leading connection between local buyers and sellers. The Greensheet’s neighborhood-focused advertising has made it easy to buy, sell or advertise in specific communities, creating new business opportunities for local companies. Combining effective business and community activity, The Greensheet has served as the smart, practical and affordable choice for buyers and sellers for more than four decades. The company delivers print publications in Houston, Austin, Dallas and Ft. Worth. More than one million readers every week rely on The Greensheet for classified ads, employment, real estate, cars, and service listings.
