One Harvest Takes Fresh Approach to Feeding Families
May 3, 2012 (MMD Newswire) — While many food assistance programs look at filling bellies, One Harvest provides high quality food at a price people can afford. Just look at the One Harvest menu and you will see item such as Choice Cut Steaks, Fresh Frozen Vegetables, Apple Pecan Stuffed Chicken Breast, and other items you would not see offered by many organizations of their kind. It is a philosophy that the people One Harvest serves find to be refreshing.
The other difference you will find with One Harvest is the constant striving to provide the best value for the people served through their hundreds of Partner Sites located throughout the Southeast, Texas, Indiana and soon to be Oklahoma. This is where they came up with the concept; “If we won’t put it on our own table, we certainly won’t put it on yours.” The staff has become the biggest advocates for their partners because they are their customers. It has been a great way to maintain quality control within the organization.
One Harvest sets itself apart through customer service as well. For example, on delivery day you won’t be able to reach the One Harvest Executive Staff at their desks because they are out driving trucks as they deliver food to their partners. Building relationships with the thousands of volunteers that serve their communities is important to the One Harvest Staff. Many of the Directors and Volunteers are surprised when the CEO or the Vice President show up to their site and jump up on the truck and start handing them boxes. The bonding that occurs has allowed for open and honest
