Writer / Blogger / Journalist

Description

I am looking for a writer / blogger / journalist for a technology news site that covers a variety of topics such as content management, web publishing, email marketing, web analytics, digital marketing and more.

The type of content I am looking for consists primarily of product announcements, new releases and reviews or introductions to new product offerings.

My main goals is to have someone search out and find news and commentary opportunities on specific topics. The easiest way to do this, if looking for content for the email marketing category, for example, is to search out firms that provide email marketing services / products (such as http://mailchimp.com , http://constantcontact.com and others) and watch for announcements, new features, etc that provide an opportunity to write about.

Should there be a slow period, you could perhaps work on a commentary or editorial or even screenshot some of the app and put together an intro or quick review piece. With the number of categories on our site, there is plenty to write about.

I would review each piece for relevance and publish those that I feel are applicable to our audience. The type of readers we have visiting our site are those in the market for products and services provided by various vendors. With this in mind, it’s usually best to cater the content to this type of reader by providing them with the latest news on the various offerings across the markets.

I don’t mind press releases as long as they are filtered and slightly reworded to suit our audience. I don’t publish pieces of press releases that are self promoting (ie: “Company name, the greatest marketing agency in the world, introduced a new product today….” would be changed to “Company name released a new product today…’)

As a benefit, there is an opportunity for free travel and accommodations within Canada and the United States to industry specific events as a representative of our website. Meals and accommodations including flight are often covered for those interested in this bonus opportunity.

I am looking for someone with a strong command of the English language who can search out and find news opportunities on the various topics our site covers.

Right now, I am looking for someone who is willing / able to work on a monthly rate. This job requires about 2 hours per day of time to find articles and submit them (slightly rewording some areas).

I’m paying around $250-350 / month depending on skill set with a definite opportunity in the next few months of earning more as you prove yourself.

If this sounds like you, drop me a line with some links to material you’ve written and

Carbonostics Democratizing Product Lifecycle Assessment for Food Sector, Reports Independent Sustainability Analyst Firm

Carbonostics is contributing to the growth of the product LCA market in Europe, which independent analyst firm reports
will more than double in growth hitting $103.3 million by 2015

Neuilly-sur-Seine, France (MMD Newswire) April 20, 2012 — Carbonostics, the online product lifecycle assessment (pLCA) application for the food sector, participated in the latest report from independent analyst firm Verdantix, European Product LCA Market Forecast 2011-2015, published in March 2012.

The latest research from Verdantix reviews the barriers and drivers influencing the penetration of pLCA per industry to size, and forecast that the European market is set to reach $40.5 million in 2012 and more than double over the next three years hitting $103.3 million by 2015. The report takes into consideration software, implementation and support budgets while detailing spend in European countries including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK. This research follows on from a previous report Smart Innovators: Product LCA Software that reviewed usage scenarios and solutions available on the market, which also included Carbonostics.

Carbonostics

The research found that over the past three years, the choice of LCA tools on the market has increased with new entrants popularizing LCA. Furthermore, the report states that simplified interfaces designed for specific product categories or industries, such as food and beverage industry focused software Carbonostics, are supporting the uptake of LCA in new industries and for new usage scenarios by making LCA accessible to non-experts.

Carbonostics (cost + carbon + nutrition) was launched more than three years ago and continues to be a pioneering force in food product sustainability with its triple-bottom-line approach. It delivers product lifecycle assessment, hot-spot screening and product portfolio analysis via an online tool that includes a built-in, comprehensive database with over 2500 emission factors relevant to the food industry.

“Carbonostics is driving the growth of product LCA applications and software in Europe and beyond by delivering a new approach to product sustainability and lifecycle assessment. Carbonostics is the fruit of our vision to build the bridge between science and practical world business needs in order to make LCA accessible to all companies in the food sector, whether big or small. Our goal is to equip all companies with accurate, intelligent, and actionable information with which to make strategic sustainability decisions,”Bluehorse president Sara Pax explains.

“We are proud that our commitment to bringing LCA to the business world is being recognized by the food industry as well

New online service lets customers talk and businesses listen (and respond)

C3 Feedback fosters real conversations between consumers companies, says founder

Edmonton, AB, Canada (MMD Newswire) April 18, 2012 – There’s a new online tool with a twofold mission: to help consumers anywhere in the world talk back to any company on the planet with the assurance that someone will listen and respond – while at the same time helping companies deliver a better customer experience. That tool, C3 Feedback, is the brainchild of Stony Plain businessman Karl Pischke, who is continually exploring ways to open up new lines of constructive communication between consumers and businesses. Pischke believes C3 Feedback is an innovative system that will help both customer and company sort through all of the noise online.

As Pischke sees it, the Internet has allowed more people than ever to express themselves any time, anywhere, and that can certainly be beneficial. But the problem with the unfettered expression of opinions online is that all too often, the other party is not included or even notified. Social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter have made it somewhat easier for companies to converse directly with customers, but these popular sites are not really dedicated customer feedback forums. “C3 Feedback is dedicated to feedback,” says Pischke. “It offers an easy new way for consumers to turn their thoughts back into feedback.”

Moreover, there’s no way that any company can control all of the material that goes up on the Internet. Some companies hire dedicated staff to “cruise” the Net for mentions of the firm and respond accordingly, but this is only feasible for a small percentage of businesses, and at best is only marginally effective. And for many companies with small staffs and limited budgets, it’s not an option at all.

“Companies are struggling with what’s on the Internet,” says Pischke. “There are millions of thoughts going up daily, but most companies have no idea what’s out there or how to access the information. It like finding a needle in a huge haystack on private land which is not yours.”

Enter the C3 concept (C3 is short for Connecting Consumers to Companies). C3 Feedback is a sister company to Pischke’s C3 Synergistics (www.c3sy.com), an Internet-based community designed to connect consumers to honest companies in a way that Pischke believes hasn’t been done before. “The C3 model gives customers a way to reclaim some of the power that has been taken from them over the last few decades,” says Pischke. “But it gives businesses power too; after all, knowledge is power, as they say.
