Freelance Writers For Blogging [NYC Residents Preferred]

THis company will be needing about 4-7 blog posts for its new blogs — a lifestyle blog and a parenting blog. They prefer to hire someone from NYC.

Overview

Pronto.com, a comScore Top 100 internet company, is searching for freelance bloggers to contribute 4-7 blog posts per week to our two new blogs. Post style will be driven largely by the personality of the bloggers we hire.

Broad topics will typically be flexibly assigned several weeks in advance of the publishing date. Bloggers will be encouraged to pitch ideas. Posts will typically be 100-300 words in length and a style guide will be provided. Bloggers will be asked to write about topics they are interested in that fit the concept.

The first concept is a lifestyle blog intended for an affluent or aspirational young-ish professional urban male. Posts will be about a luxury lifestyle and topics will range from traveling to places of interest (ie. Las Vegas) to high-end electronics (ie. Bang & Olufsen). You’re writing for the kind of reader who is always planning for the day he owns a Porsche 911 and thinks The Hangover is a great flick. Many posts will be product-focused.

The second concept is a parenting lifestyle blog written by a mom. The ideal candidate is a college-graduate mom with one or more kids under 10 years old. Your audience is the kind of mom who cares about the balance between the science and art of parenting. Many posts will be product-focused.

HOW TO APPLY:

Please email 2 writing samples and your resume to writingjobs(at)pronto.com. We are looking to develop relationships with bloggers who want steady work over a long period of time. Compensation will be $7-$12 per post depending upon the candidate. Writers who are local to NYC are preferred.
