eHomeUpgrade is looking for a Digital Home Tech Blogger:
eHomeUpgrade is currently seeking competent writers (preferably in the USA) to blog in a compelling/authoritative manner on all the latest trends and happenings in the “Digital Home” space. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can submit two to five 100+ word posts (Engadget/Gizmodo style) every morning-afternoon (Eastern/Pacific time zone), Monday-Friday, and has personal experience using some of the many products and services covered on our site. No newbies to the niche please (we’re trying to keep on the job training to a minimum).
Regularly Covered Topics:
Windows Media Center, MythTV, LinuxMCE, SageTV, Beyond TV, Apple Front Row, Apple TV, Windows Home Server, Home Networking, Home Automation, Media Extenders, UPnP/DLNA, Online Content Providers.Daily Tasks:
Writers should be able to find news on their own and recap product/software developments, 3rd party hacks/reviews, and on occasion write-up quick op-eds on things that are happening in the industry. Note: The Editor will work closely with new bloggers for the first couple months to get writers on track, which includes providing news leads to cover.Important:
Besides being a proficient writer, bloggers must be competent with one or all of the major PC platforms (i.e. Windows, Mac, Linux) and be adept at using image editing software like Photoshop or GIMP.Pay:
$5 per post + $1 bonus for every 1,000 page views accumulated on top of the initial 1,000 page view expectation (page views are tallied on the 15th of the following month). Translation: a decently written and informative post will earn $5+, while a mediocre story with less than 1,000 views will get $0. FYI, it’s easy to get 1,000 page views on content our readers find relevant and worthwhile.Job Perks:
Press-pass entry to conferences, software and hardware freebies, name recognition for writing for a reputable publication.
