We’re seeking a Unix systems administrator with experience in large, multi-datacenter architectures and a mastery of Unix, especially Linux. Slide is growing fast, and we need admins who can take ownership and build out a major web site the right way.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the excellent performance, scalability, and availability of our production and corporate environments. Coordination and collaboration with our developers and product managers is crucial. Tasks include Linux systems setup and maintenance, prototyping and designing infrastructure for new products, enhancing production and corporate site scalability, monitoring and site performance tracking, and day-to-day support of switches and load balancers.

Requirements:
• 5+ years of production Unix systems administration in a production datacenter environment.
• Emphasis on Linux in previous experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, networking, firewall, and security concepts.
• Architectural experience in an Apache/MySQL environment.
• Familiarity with monitoring and configuration distribution tools (esp. nagios/puppet)
• Excellent working knowledge of DNS, HTTP/S, SSH, LDAP, NFS, PXE/DHCP/TFTP.
• Familiarity with system and software performance tuning, including tools such as strace, oprofile, gdb.
• Extensive sh/csh/perl knowledge (Python a big plus).
• Must be detail oriented, an organized thinker, and able to act decisively under stressful conditions.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask and prioritize, and a proactive mindset.
• Team player and self-motivated.

Experienced User Interface / Front-end Web Developer

CauseTV is looking for a Experienced User Interface / Front-end Web Developer:

CauseTV is a funded, pre-launch startup building rich internet applications and widgets for online media distribution. Our mission is to empower conscientious citizens to create and share cause-related videos and photos via social networks to support causes important to them. At the same time, we promote awareness, education, and involvement in issues of social and global importance.

CauseTV is seeking a front-end design guru with Web 2.0+ experience. You will help create multiple interfaces that showcase CauseTV’s media and user capabilities. Will be responsible for implementing Web interfaces and behind-the-scenes APIs for use by CauseTV’s end-users and partners.

The ideal candidate will understand the separation of content from design and feel comfortable explaining their design decisions and methodology. Should have the ability to write validating, standards-compliant, and semantically-rich code and be aware of cross-browser compatibility and bugs.

You will work to incorporate existing branding and low-detail wire-frames into the final product. Translations from design to final code should be an exact match. Should also feel comfortable suggesting alternatives as part of the creative team. Solid tech skills, solid people skills, and a passion for Web 2.0 are required.

Includes opportunity to telecommute / work virtually with 20% travel, if desired.
Option to work full-time or part-time.

Responsibilities:
* Work closely with design team, product teams, and customers in translating design comps into Web pages
* Build out functionality of site from a range of sources from sketches to wire frames
* Development of flexible display modules that integrate database calls and work with other developers to integrate back-end code

Requirements:
* Extensive experience developing AJAX applications
* Extensive experience with XML, XSLT, and Web Services/Web Toolkits
* Ability to configure, use, and maintain a full LAMP test environment
* Experience integrating Javascript and Flash components into PHP site
* Solid knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, RSS, ATOM
* General knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator/Freehand
* Knowledge, experience with source/version control systems, structured deployment practices, and performance tuning
* Demonstrable success in working without supervision on distributed projects

The following will be considered pluses:
* Experience with Flash/Flex technologies
* Experience with blog plug-in and widget development
* Experience with social networking Websites/software
* Experience with Ruby-on-Rails
