Who are we?

We’re a bunch of smart ad guys who developed a proprietary revenue-enhancement tool for retailers and restaurants that lets customers design their own custom coupons.

We’re blitzing the market and we need someone to helm our website blog. Daily submissions about net deals from stores you like and places you actually shop.

Who Are You?

You are a phenomenal writer. You have attitude. You live on the internet (but not in a creepy way) and post sarcastic comments on culture blogs. Your friends think you are really funny. You are looking for some extra change to justify your Masters in English Lit or Creative Writing while you crank out that next great novel.

Most importantly you are cheap, and you love searching around the internet for discounts and telling your friends about them. You’d love to share that info with the world.

Please include a writing sample about a cool net deal (just a paragraph) and a link to your blog (if you have one). The deal should not simply be New York focused, but something that would appeal to someone anywhere in the country.

Freelance Writer for Culture Magazine [Chicago]

A lifestyle magazine based in Chicago is looking for writers who have connections to the underground scene:

We are a monthly start-up magazine focusing on innovative art, music, theatre, literature and cultural events in Chicago. We are currently looking for a writer who is connected to these underground scenes. If you are a creative writer constantly attending artistic events not covered by major media outlets, we are looking for you.

Qualifications`:
1) Must live in Chicago or near suburbs.
2) Ability to write 3-5 500-1000 word articles per month.
3) Experience with meeting strict deadlines.
3) Knowledge and interest in non-conventional literature, art, music, theatre, and more in Chicago.
4) Prior experience writing for an online magazine is preferred.
5) Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing one) in Journalism, English, Fine Arts, or related field is preferred but not required.
6) Knowledge of AP style is a plus.

Looking for…
Someone who has experience writing and marketing blogs. Experience writing on education related topics is a plus. Must have complete control of the English language – grammar and spelling must be exceptional. An ideal candidate is someone who is motivated, outgoing, and looking to take complete ownership of a blog to attract readers and do what it takes to make it a success. Candidates MUST be willing to commit to this assignment for a minimum 6 months.

Job details…
We are looking to hire a part-time blogger/marketer for an eduction website we own. You will spend 12 hours per month writing and marketing our blog. Most of the time will be dedicated to writing, but about a quarter of the time will be spent reading, commenting, and participating in the education blogging community to help promote our blog.

Pay
We are looking to fill this position immediately. Payment will be $100/month for a minimum 6 month period of time. If the blog attracts readers then we will be looking to expand the number of hours per month.
